Treatment
Treatment for undescended testicles can be both surgical and non-surgical depending on the severity of the condition. Most of the time, the testicle moves into place itself within a few months but if it does not then a laparoscopic procedure is required to locate and reposition it.
This involves making a small incision and inserting a camera into the baby’s abdomen. If the doctor detects any testicles in the abdomen, he will move them to the scrotum. Otherwise, open surgery is required for further exploration of the abdomen.
Surgeons at Curadors have successfully performed several such procedures over a period of 15 years. Our partnered facility, Maroof International Hospital has state-of-the-art operation theaters equipped with the world’s most advanced equipment to provide the best quality treatment to our patients.
Risks, Complications & Preventions
Undescended testicles must be treated at an early age as babies born with an undescended testicle are at a high risk of developing testicular cancer and fertility problems later in life. Regular follow up visits to the doctor for testicular exam are advised to teenagers for preventing any future complications.
