Lung cysts are caused by the overgrowth of abnormal lung tissue which can turn into fluid-filled cysts. This can affect the development of the tiny air sacs that are an essential part of the lungs. Lung cysts can be congenital or acquired. They are noncancerous but can cause respiratory distress in infants. Hence, they require immediate treatment.
