With more than 5000 surgeries under his cap and counting, Chief of Surgery at Maroof International Hospital, Dr Faisal Murad is considered a pioneer in Laparoscopic Surgery simulation and training across the country.

Overview

Graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in 1999, Dr. Faisal Murad finished his initial training in General Surgery and was awarded MCPS & FCPS (General Surgery) by CPSP. He was then selected by the US State Department as the first trainee from developing countries for advanced telemedicine training in the USA. Upon receiving training in USAMRMC, TATRC and VCU, he was awarded a fellowship in Telemedicine and Telesurgery. In recognition of his work in Laparoscopic Surgery, Dr. Faisal Murad was again awarded a Gold Medal and was titled the Best Young Surgeon in 2013 by the Society of Surgeons.

Articles and Publications

There are few specialized oncology centers in Pakistan. Teleoncology was introduced for weekly tumor case meetings between the surgery departments of Holy Family Hospital and NORI Hospital using videoconferencing.
